The Brilliant Red Ixora
Oops, missed posting Today’s Flowers on Sunday. However, these flowers from my garden would be sorely disappointed if I didn’t feature them this week, so here they are…presenting today’s flowers… the brilliant Ixora!

- They are really breath-taking, aren’t they Carolyn? I have just transplanted them on to a flower-bed and added some yellow celosias for contrast.

- Those look like hummingbird heaven! I doubt I can grow those outdoors but I wonder if they’d do well in pots for me.

This variety is pretty new. I haven’t seen any colour other than this one, yet.

They are really spectacular, even before the petals open up(in the first photo) – they are like needles.

You’re right, I checked it out, it is classified under the genus “euphorbia” – euphorbia bracteata also known as pedilanthus bracteatus! Aren’t we knowledgeable!
