The first time I was in Hamilton in 2010, I only learned that there was a Hamilton Garden when I was leaving, and they said that parts of the garden were closed or something to that effect. Now that I was passing Hamilton, and I had heard of how fascinating the garden was, I made a point to stop and visit. Glad that I did, as this was indeed an educational tour as well as a feast for the eyes.
The Italian Renaissance Garden was impressive! In the 15th and 16th century, the art of garden design and horticulture flowered, and the rich and powerful families of the city states of Italy built magnificent gardens as a symbol of prestige.
